For now, Gamevice does have options that work for both iPhones and iPads. If you care about iOS support, Gamevice and Razer are working on a Kishi model to work with iPhones, due to come out later in 2020. A model designed to work with both the S10+ and S9 or Pixel 3a XL and 2 will likely have a similar wobble issue if you use it with the smallest phone in the lineup. We should also point out that, while we haven't reviewed Gamevice models for AC as of yet, they have a very similar design to the Kishi. The company's original designs catered to iPhone and iPad owners, and it seems that Kishi has become its new inroad into the Android market. As of publication, only the S9 series and ROG Phone 1 models appear to be available. In practice, it appears that Gamevice has let several of these models go out of stock. If it's something like fps, I have to use clip + controller to get enjoyment out of it.Įdit: only read your title before responding but your sentiments is basically the same.In theory, these specific Gamevice models will fit your phone securely. I have both setups and since I'm playing octopath, been using the kishi. ![]() Make sure you get a clip that's has two joints to position the phone. Cheapest option as well. The bad thing about clips is the weight distribution is unbalanced unless you hold and position it one way. Also, you don't need to slip on and off your phone case. The kishi is also specialized purely for streaming, nothing else and also is more costlyĬlip is good if you have controller already or want the full controller experience. The kish is bad or annoying if you have a phone case, play fps and want the accuracy. Kishi is good for portability, in bed, even weight distribution, and for the switch like experience. I just tried this out and it does help out a lot! Note - I installed iOS 14.5 public beta and that is how I've been using the Xbox Controller with my iPhone since 14.5 hasn't been released yetĮdit - I just read from a customer review on the OtterBox website that they reversed the top of the gaming clip when laying down and it helped the weight distribution. Also because how the weight distribution with the phone on the clip it's very uncomfortable playing lying down. The only downsides I've seen with the clip are the weight distribution is weird and having the controller + the phone is a much larger form factor than just the BackBone. I have large hands which makes the full-size controller much more comfortable than the BackBone. Now the next comparison was with the Otterbox Mobile Gaming Clip vs BackBone. But in every other aspect like build quality, software, button clickiness, comfortability, etc the BackBone is better and since both retail around $100, I would choose the BackBone over the Kishi any day. Also, I like the analog stick tension on the Razer Kishi over the BackBone but that's a small detail. The Razer Kishi's condensing mechanism allows it to fit in your pocket pretty easily. Comparing the BackBone and Razer Kishi, I would say the BackBone is superior in every way except portability. I recently bought the BackBone, Razer Kishi, and Otterbox Mobile Gaming Clip and have been testing all 3 out to see which one fits for me. I'm trying to prepare myself for the release of xCloud on iOS so I've been testing out a couple of different mobile gaming options and i'm curious to see what other people's setup is when gaming on their phone? Do you prefer using a dedicated mobile gaming controller like the BackBone or Razer Kishi Or do you prefer using a full-sized controller with a gaming clip attached like the OtterBox Mobile Gaming Clip? If you have both, do you use them both equally or do you game on one more than the other. The views of the moderation team do not reflect the view of Microsoft or its subsidiaries.
